Writing & talks
Papers, talks and editorial work
A record rather than a blog. Some of this was presented at a conference, some delivered as a talk, and some was editorial work — each is labelled with where and when rather than flattened into one category.

Dr David Nichols — a history of psychedelics
Coordinated and hosted a talk by Dr David Nichols — the American pharmacologist and medicinal chemist who has worked on psychoactive compounds since 1969 and coined the term "entactogen" — covering the history of psychedelics and their pharmacology and behavioural effects. The second event in a talks programme I ran as President.

Specialism: Phenomenology
The philosophical background here is mostly phenomenology, which is the through-line between the academic work and the talks above. Alongside the degree I was involved in society activity: I served as President of the Durham University Psychedelic Society and later of the UK Psychedelic Alumni Network, running their programme of invited talks, and established the Durham Philosophy Society Facebook presence, which had reached 845 followers at the point recorded in an earlier portfolio.
Essays in progress
Longer public essays and project retrospectives will be published here as they're written.
